About Coach

After spending 16+ years in corporate HR, Lindsey realized she wanted to pursue her passion for helping others find strength, mobility, and vitality to help them enjoy their lifestyle for longer. Lindsey and her husband, Carlos, purchased South Island CrossFit in July 2025 where they can't wait to reinvigorate the culture and share the benefits of CrossFit with the rest of the South Whidbey community.

Turning Point

When our family moved to the island in 2020, my husband Carlos and I worked remotely, so we spent most of our day sedentary, staring at a computer screen. We went for occasional runs, and I would go to Pilates 1-2/week, but we still felt like we weren’t as fit as we wanted to be. Though initially skeptical about CrossFit, we finally attended our first class at SIC. We were able to bring our young daughter, and we loved being able to attend class together. The people we met were friendly and welcoming. We started going regularly, making friends, and seeing progress in our fitness levels. It inspired us to make healthier changes in other aspects of our lives. It quickly became the best hour of our days, and I hated missing a class. Now we are both obsessed with CrossFit, and love the thrill of chasing that next skill.

Motivation & Passion

My favorite part of CrossFit is that athletes come from all walks of life: teenagers, senior citizens, pregnant and post-partem moms…you name it! And I love that we can all bond over that common ground. The workouts are also infinitely scalable, so they work for all.
